Swords Dumped out of Plate

Swords crashed out of the Provincial Towns Plate after coming unstuck at home to Rathdrum on Sunday. The two sides had met back in October, where the Wicklow men snatched victory in the closing minutes. The winning margin was a little wider this time around, although Swords did have their chances and led 5-3 midway through the first half through Fiachra Coll's try.

But Rathdrum showed why they are on top of Division 3, with a fine display of running rugby, though the score was a little harsh given Swords efforts.
Swords have a free weekend this week, before closing out their campaign with Clane, Clondalkin and Gorey still to come.
